622.08 Mbit/s ofr 155 Mbit/s SONET Framer
The 1600 is capable of operating at 155Mbps (STS-3c/STM-1 frame) or 622Mbps(STS-12c/STM4c frame). The device performs all functions necessary to insert and extract ATM cells from byte-wide SONET/SDH bit-aligned signals. The 1600's functionality also includes termination/generation of 155Mbps or 622Mbps SONET/SDH frames carrying ATM cells including framescrambling/descrambling, ATM cell delineation, ATM cell scrambling/descrambling and cell rate decoupling.
