PHY-UNI for 155 Mbps

The IDT77155 is a member of IDTs SWITCHStAR family of products for ATM networks. The part provides SONET/SDH processing and ATM mapping functions of a 155 Mbps/51Mbps ATM User Network Interface. Features include

• UTOPIA Level I and Level II support
• full implementation of the SONET/SDH criteria according to Bellcore GR-253-CORE and ITU-T G.709
• built-in clock/data recovery
• provides GFC bits insertion and extraction
• supports up to 4 PHY for Multi-PHY connections with 2 bit address and 8 bit data using UTOPIA Level II protocol
• provides an 8 bit microprocessor bus interface for configuration, control and monitoring

The IC is manufactured in Low Power CMOS Technology.

The part is packaged in 128 pin PQFP.
