Altera Corporation is a leading supplier of High Density Programmable Logic Devices and associated development tools. Altera provides high level 'megafunctions' which support the development of telecom and datacom circuits including ATM. The megafunctions provided include a range of CRC functions and in addition include a sample ATM packet scheduler which supports up to 32 ATM virtual channel groups with a dedicated buffer of upto 1024 cells per group. These megafunctions can be modified by the user, through the reprogrammable nature of the devices to support individual design requirements.
